Chapter 5: The Room of Ridiculous Riddles

Chapter 5: The Room of Ridiculous Riddles

Having conquered the previous challenges, you and Colonel Clucks find yourselves in a dimly lit chamber. As you step forward, torches along the walls flare to life, casting a flickering glow on a large, ornate door. Sitting in front of the door is a massive stone sphinx, its eyes gleaming with mischief.

“Welcome, adventurers!” the sphinx booms, her voice echoing through the room. “I am the Guardian of Giggles, the Maestro of Mirth, the Sphinx of Silliness! If you wish to pass through this door and continue your quest, you must first answer my riddles three!”

Colonel Clucks tilts his head quizzically, and you can't help but grin at the prospect of a riddle challenge. “Very well, Guardian of Giggles,” you say, bowing with a flourish. “We accept your challenge. Let the riddles begin!”

The sphinx nods, a smile tugging at her stone lips. “Riddle the first,” she begins, her eyes twinkling:

“I am not alive, but I grow; I don't have lungs, but I need air; I don't have a mouth, but water kills me. What am I?”

You ponder for a moment, tapping your chin thoughtfully. Colonel Clucks paces back and forth, his beak furrowed in concentration.

What do you answer?

  1. Say: “A Fire!”
  2. Offer the sphinx a pastry from your pack to bypass the puzzles.

What do you do next?
